I've found valerian root extract can be helpful sometimes but it doesn't seem to work for particularly long, whatever the underlying compound is it must have a short half-life.
- FollowingTheDao 4y agoValerian root contains valeric acid, which is how they found the drug Depakote (Valproic acid). It's effect has been attributed to the blockade of voltage-gated sodium channels and increased brain levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).
