I mostly agree with you, these sort of naked get rich quick scams appeal more to men, or to a personality for which the majority are male. One thing I thought of is that there are women dominated scams as well, like Avon or Hebalife and other pyramid schemes, so there's more subtlety about which personalities are most attracted to which scams
- PaulHoule 4y agoIt’s funny, I know both men and women sucked into Amway, but there certainly are gendered MLM schemes. There is the stereotype, somewhat backed by reality, that women are better at maintaining relationships. MLM could have the hook not just that you’ll make money but also develop meaningful relationships with your ‘downline’. Another poster noted that men also were more likely to put effort into certain hobbies and my own observation is that there are groups of people other than autists who develop ‘special interests’ and it may be something many men do in lieu of developing relationships.
