Suppressing China Won't Make America Great Again – Chinese FM Qin Gang
- graderjs 4y agoI’m not sure how much of this is actually real suppression and how much of it is just for show. Surely at the highest levels these 2 great powers are comprehensively collaborating in many ways.
- danoni 4y agoChipset ban: suppression. Banning Huawei: suppresion.
- graderjs 4y agoMaybe, but maybe it’s the US helping China with its preexisting campaign to weaken the corporations the Party decided we’re too big. And to assist its transition to a more self secure chip supply chain.
- yorwba 4y agoWhich corporations are you talking about? Would be news to me if the Party had decided Huawei was too big.
- graderjs 4y agoHa! Didn’t you know about China? I thought you knew about the corporate purges that have been going on? There’s certainly been a lot of it. Well, let me know if you discover it… “in the news” haha! ;) ;p xx
- yorwba 4y agoThat's not a very informative response. Huawei is the only company you mentioned by name, which is why I asked. There's certainly been a lot of reporting on "corporate purges" targeting e.g. unsecured loans or for-profit education, but it didn't seem to me like you were talking about those sectors.
- graderjs 4y agoWell it wasn't a very generous interpretation, was it? It's the kind of thing where you can research it for yourself. Why should I do your research for you? I could be talking about anything, but you wouldn't know right? But you should assume, a generous interpretation, that I could be talking about anything, right? All those things that you could recall yourself, included. I wonder...Why are you anon on here, after so many years? Don't you feel it's kind of personally dishonest / lack of integrity to have opinions but not put your name to it?
- graderjs 4y agoBTW , you said, "...is the only company you mentioned by name." But I didn't even mention them by name! You said it: you're the one who mentioned them. It's weird, it's like you don't even know what you are talking about. I thought you were a kind of expert on this topic, but you're just projecting your whatever misinterpretation onto my stuff--what just do start a fight or find a disagreement? That's not good. Anyway, I think you should just slow down and think before you make such hasty, bad and incorrect replies.
- Overtonwindow 4y agoSuppressing China won't make America great, but it will make America safer. From intellectual property theft, espionage, Human rights abuses against Chinese, American citizens, De-escalation of tension and threat in Asia, reduction in funding for despotic regimes, China is the single greatest threat to world peace.
- graderjs 4y agoGreat username for a view that reflects a main point of mainstream Western discourse!
- ashwagary 4y ago>China is the single greatest threat to world peace. Polling shows the US holds the title of greatest threat to peace. Unfortunately for the US, the respondents know world history.
- senttoschool 4y agoPropaganda is strong. Extremist views like OP here is exactly why I think it's so dangerous to have unchecked anti-China propaganda in the mass media.
- kevviiinn 4y agoMass media and the internet in general is actually absolutely flooded with pro-american pro-capitalism propaganda. So much so that everyone is blind to it, but that's why the great firewall exists
- Overtonwindow 4y ago"unchecked anti-China propaganda in the mass media." It's called freedom of speech and expression. Something China doesn't believe in. I get it, China is not a democracy, the government controls everything completely. You may call it propaganda, but it's undeniable that China is a threat to freedom just in the way they treat their own people. The ability to post something that has been proven to be categorically fact is only propaganda if you believe the Chinese government. Because if you do, I have a bridge to sell you...
