- senttoschool 4y agoThe Failure of Nationalism and Populism Alternative visions, such as nationalism and populism, fail to recognize our common humanity and cannot bring long-term security or prosperity to a nation. These ideologies promote the idea that a country's interests are best served by looking inward and closing itself off from the rest of the world. They see other nations as competitors, rather than partners. This approach may provide short-term gains, but it ultimately leads to isolation, conflict, and a decline in living standards. Absolutely. Nationalism and populism went into overdrive during Trump's years.
