I'd like to add to this a great site covering an IMHO underrated card, the voodoo banshee: https://3dfx-banshee.de/ https://3dfx-banshee.de/

oh man i was just about to ask, "what no voodoo3?!" awesome

I miss my voodoos! I used a voodoo 3 for yeeeeears. Had great alt OS support on top of just performing really well for what I wanted. I used a voodoo 5 ago + physx pci PPU card + modded drivers for both for way way longer than is remotely reasonable lol. Wish I still had all that hardware. If the voodoo. 5 had had T&L support in hardware I’d probably still be using it as that was the function that hurt it the most to not have later on. sniffs Ram them in a dual tualatin-s P3 OCed to ~1.7ghz.

Got excited by Evans & Sutherland card only to discover this isnt a museum, its a photo gallery with almost no info, might as well browse pinterest. This is a proper VGA museum website: https://www.vgamuseum.info https://www.vgamuseum.info Example weird card https://www.vgamuseum.info/index.php/component/k2/item/721-evans-sutherland-lightning-1200 https://www.vgamuseum.info/index.php/component/k2/item/721-e... with links to proper review, all technical details, release date, sales brochures, even downloadable bios dump etc.

Agree https://www.vgamuseum.info https://www.vgamuseum.info is a great site. And while it's VGA-centric, they have all sorts of odd-ball non-VGA PC video cards.

Sorry, this isn't a museum, just some guy providing a high-res scans of a long forgotten pieces of hardware for anyone to see.

This museum apparently includes jokes: https://vgamuseum.ru/gpu/noname/videoloca-bitchin-fast-3d-2000/ https://vgamuseum.ru/gpu/noname/videoloca-bitchin-fast-3d-20... So, typical Russian disinformation.

Usually "Russian disinformation" would refer to politics related news, for example. Are you confident this website (which looks like a hobby project) qualifies as being related to the Russian government? I can only expect that, because if you just assume "its Russian so it must be bad", I would not expect you to be on HN (rather maybe in some other, more racist, forum).

    It was a joke.

I get that, but I didnt find it very funny

Just to think how different this world would be if any of those cards became the successor compared to todays monopoly of GFX cards.
