Whenever I read these things, I feel the same way. I'd even go further: NYC has decided to allowed Airbnb's, it just can't quite admit that. So it pretends to fine them. But enforces nothing. Because that is politically expedient. I honestly don't care if they all Airbnb or not. I just find it distastful when governments insist on lying about their actual policy...
