Chinese OEMs constantly violating Android compliance (2018)
- livinglist 4y agoIf you buy a xiaomi phone from within China, the OS that comes with it has tons of ways to push ads to you. Every preinstalled app, even the settings app has ads in it, and most of them cannot be disabled without some struggling, even if you managed to disable them, often times they will just come back afterwards.

- flykespice 4y agoImagine you spent an obscene amount of time learning to be proeficient on the intricacies of android development (specifically its permission model) just for the OEM to break your fully android compliant app behavior... and then they give their own apps unfair disavantadges bypassing android permissions, it's outrageous. If google really cares for their developers, they need to step up as soon as possible, and enforce compliant behavior from these OEMs. I'm having second thoughts on going further learning android development if things keep like this...
