  (OP here) This started as a HN comment which turned into a tweetstorm which turned into this blog post. Happy to discuss further. Tons of stuff didn't fit, such as discussion of discrete/continuous mental models, how to convert between discrete/continuous stages and the relation to derivatives/integrals in Calculus, how to have pipelines of interleaved discrete/continuous stages and how to deal with backpressure semantics at the boundaries.

    Neither links seem to be working on ios firefox. Both result ok the “I'm Dustin Getz, digital citizen” page. Not sure how the user is expected to get to the pages, but from the graph the nodes are not clickable.
