One day, it would be nice to have a metric of how many tons of CO2 is a year of life less for one specific human being (being killed by climate change), or one net-year over multiple humans lost with indirect deadly effects would probably be more useful.
800 USD is enough to save a life, but how many people does one pickup truck kill?
Last time I checked for european SUVs, my in the ballpark guesstimate after doing the number crunching was 0.001 to 0.01;
So about as many as car traffic probably is creating by means of non-CO2 based costs and damages anyway.
The later number takes into account having subsidies either directly as well as for infrastructure paid for,
and accidents happen to the life and health of motorized road,
together with more direct pollution and effects of land use in mostly our cities.
