Wooly thinking begets wooly thinking, I see.
Even if you hate all cryptocurrencies and financial use cases, the space has spurred a ton of new and interesting applied research. Ignoring eg BLS signatures and multiparty computation because of affinity with cryptocurrency isn't rational.
- acdha 4y agoI’m not ignoring it, just being realistic about what it can do and where the problem needs a technical solution. There are people I respect working in the space but they are mostly getting ignored since pragmatic research doesn’t promise a gold rush.
