Its worth to mention here Blender and Autocad logos history.[0,1]
Overall FreeCAD logo looks ugly: even icon and emoticons, based on it, looks way different.[2]
FreeCAD already has an updated its logo since 2017.[3] Also in 2016 there was a try to make flat-alike in FreeCAD 0.16.[4]
Totally replacing actual logo is not good, but at least some further retouching would be nice improvement.
But its the lest part of FreeCAD that should be fixed now, because there are a lot of serious FreeCAD bugs not fixed yet.

- a2800276 4y agoThe fact that the logo is ugly is not a problem in itself, honestly, who cares? The problem is that this makes it such a low hanging fruit; attracting a bunch of washed up hack designers looking to pad their resume with a logo, not realizing it's not about banging together something pretty in an afternoon, and in the meantime, wasting the resources of people doing actual work.
- app4soft 4y agoGuess, problem with logo actually reveals due to founding of the FreeCAD Project Association and first FreeCAD conferences being held last months — now there is a part of FreeCAD users that wants associate themself with FreeCAD visually, but found that logo is not so attractive as Blender's logo.
