Kids social status has gone full consumerism. If they don't have the right shoes they're "lame". If their 'friends' care that much that they have an Android phone, they're not friends, they're losers. If they want an iphone that much then they can get a job and work for it. You can't educate perspective, they have to learn it themselves.
