I turned JavaScript into a compiled language (for fun and WASM)
- rektide 4y agoI really wish AssemblyScript or some other TypeScript->WASM had a little more traction. TypeScript has been moving really fast, so it's like, quite the project to pull off. This is such a neat go at the problem (sans types). Nice job.
- smt88 4y ago> TypeScript->WASM You could just use this project in a build pipeline: 1. Write TypeScript until compiler shows no errors 2a. Compile TypeScript 2b. Just strip out TypeScript types 3. Compile JavaScript to WASM It would be a one-time change to your build config.
- rektide 4y agoGood suggestion! Yes! It wouldnt really be helpful building libraries that other wasm modules could use though (at least not in the near-future when component-model starts showing up). The types are important for wasm, & losing them prevents interoperability.
