Aren't "hard of hearing" and "hearing impaired" intended to cover a range of deafness or hearing-related problems though? "Hearing challenged" definitely sounds a bit daft though for sure.

Yeah that's what I thought, like "blind" and "visually impaired" are not the same thing to me, the second refers to many different visual issues
