If we hit a ceiling soon that would probably be the best outcome for humanity. We would get powerful AIs to help us solve almost all problems, but not threathen our own existance. However, since scientists from John Hopkins University are already working on organoid intelligence, it seems that the dystopian scenario is way more likely to come true within a decade.
