This is exactly why I'm bearish on remote work. Even introverted developers eventually get exhausted working from home full-time.
Right about now is when I expect those WFH covid era holdouts to start complaining about mental health due to WFH. At the same time, these people are still anti-office.
- switch007 4y agoI visit our office every few months and every time I’m reminded that I enjoy WFH overall despite it obviously being somewhat career limiting (I can’t recall a single person who is remote-only getting a promotion the last 2 years): the office temperature is never right, air con dries out my throat, the acoustics are terrible and salespeople on the phone constantly is hell, the chairs are crap, the monitors are crap, the keyboards are crap, the office is in the middle of nowhere.
- huba 4y agoI had the same experience. On top of all that, my home desk is next to a window so I sit in natural light contrary to the office, and thanks to this I have _zero_ eye strain even if I look at the monitor all day. Huge relief.
