I have no doubt the process could be better -- there are a lot of valid complaints about the process. But those complaints are only valid because they're rooted in an understanding of why the process currently is the way it is. The data says that Musk will be killing people for his pet project of questionable use, and also that there's a pathway to this technology that doesn't require it. Don't underestimate how much work and analysis goes into these decisions, and don't overestimate how much you know about it.
