Some things I do expect anyway:
* The world will become much more dogmatic
* We will experience an even harder push towards the semantic center (i.e., no significant expression), meaning less invention, less artistic or otherwise surprising content.
* Being bored will become the new black.
- masswerk 4y agoFor those not aware, this is based on some basic definitions of semantics in social sciences (compare polarity profiles, etc): the semantic center (deviation: 0) is per definition expressionless and dogmatic. Human domain experts tend to be passionate and opinionated about their field, merely dogmatic communication is rare. There's also an essential dynamic between the practicians and innovators (or avant-garde) of a field and those arranging and protecting the canon, as observed by Barthes and others, long ago. We will be missing this.
