So we recently went from RAL 9010 to RAL 9016 for the walls (with colours and walls to create a nice atmosphere) and to my horror the difference between the RAL 9001 (cream) doors and frames is suddenly unbearable. This coming from a person who has a hard time naming the less than basic colours.
Not to get me started on the millions of colours you paint your walls in. I did have a laugh when I found out that proprietary paint colours are a big thing, a few weeks after reading on HN about Adobe "cancelling" a colour. Proprietary colours are a thing I can suddenly talk about with repair guys. Car paints are proprietary. Kitchen panel paints are proprietary. It's a whole new world. It's not just RGB, there's gloss and sparkle to consider.
