- simonh 4y agoOff the top of my head: because it indicates it’s small size; so they can say it’s built into something; so it gives it a catchy name; because it sounds cool.

- Quequau 4y agoThere used to be mechanical calculators that were rulers which were called "slide rules". Making a digital calculator with that form factor used to be an obvious thing.
