I think it's safe to say that this doesn't go as far as the dream. In addition to functions failing, you can't share memory between functions etc. With Service Weaver, you have to be aware that you're writing a distributed application, but you get to write it as a single binary. So it's not as magical as it can be, but it improves on the status quo.
