The worst is having reminders like "You made Duo sad"... No, no, no! I'm not making it anything. It's okay to say Duo is sad [you haven't practiced] but blaming a user for making It sad? That.. that takes some gall. It's off-putting and a questionable tactic.

Duolingo uses all the manipulative tricks that a narcissist might use. Yesterday I got a notification using reverse psychology, roughly paraphrasing: Continue your X day streak, or don’t. Encouragement is Duo’s thing.
