Google Docs Dark Mode
- kwijibob 4y agoThis is useful to me as I live in Google Docs. Thanks.
- jeanmayer 4y agoyour eyes thank ;)
- jeanmayer 4y agoHey HN, I built a chrome extension to make it easier to work with Google Docs in the dark. It adds a dark mode to Google Docs, so you can work comfortably at night. It's very easy and simple to use: Just install the extension and it will work. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.
- kej 4y agoAny plans to make a Firefox version? There are dozens of us still using it.
- jeanmayer 4y agoyep, we are working on this. I'll post here on HN when we launch but you can subscribe to our newsletter at https://ae.studio/same-day-skunkworks https://ae.studio/same-day-skunkworks We launch a bunch of cool projects every week (:
- cainxinth 4y agoThank you, this is something I've wanted for a while. I will say, however, that I don't love the default setting of black text on a light grey background. Any chance you'll add the option to customize the appearance of the page? I'd much prefer light colored text on a dark grey background.
- jeanmayer 4y agoadding some configs to set custom colors is a really good idea, thanks for the feedback!
- adultSwim 4y agoCould you make the page itself look dark too? It would be great if the default black text on a white background displayed to me as light text on a dark background.
- satvikpendem 4y agoI use DarkReader which works fine for me on Docs, as well as other sites.
- atebyagrue 4y agoSeconded. Dark Reader is fantastic. I've been a longtime user of it & would definitely recommend it for anyone on Brave, Firefox, & Chrome.
