Open sourcing Ezno – JavaScript compiler and TypeScript checker written in Rust
- root_axis 4y agoHow does this compare to https://stc.dudy.dev/ https://stc.dudy.dev/
- simjnd 4y agoAFAIK `stc` only does type-checking, it does not compile TS to JS and has no ambition of becoming an LSP. `swc` by the same author does compiling, but not type-checking. From what I understand it's common in the TypeScript world to do type-checking and compiling separately because the tooling is terrible and doing both sequentially results in pretty bad performance.
- root_axis 4y agoYeah, compiling is basically a solved problem, type-checking is where 90% of the complexity lives.
- zamalek 4y ago> and will eventually include [...] the LSP The even larger news is buried right there. TS desperately needs an LSP that is up to the task of inference, tools like tRPC are completely reliant on TS inference and its performance is currently awful.
