A lot said about writing code using natural language descriptions, but I have to ask myself would I rather read a natural language description of a computation

A lot said about writing code using natural language descriptions, but I have to ask myself would I rather read a natural language description of a computation or read the source code itself? I think in most cases going straight to the source code would be far more expedient for me. Then again, for many algorithms I think a natural language description is actually closer to my understanding of what's going on. But for most plumbing which makes up the bulk of code, that's not the case.
