Waymo is starting fully autonomous testing in LA
- coolspot 4y agoRIP Uber, Lyft and gig economy.
- rkagerer 4y agoIs anyone doing R&D in northern climates? Curious how we're coming along dealing with obstacles like snow, sub-zero temperatures (potentially frosting over sensors) and more inclement weather.
- JumpCrisscross 4y ago> anyone doing R&D in northern climates? Mercedes [1]. They, together with Waymo (and maybe Tesla and Cruise), are at the vanguard of this technology. - sacnoradhq 4y agoLA was designed to waste as much time with commuting as possible and is the capital of road rage, so it'll be an improvement.
- coolspot 4y agoLA was designed with a lot of roads to simplify commute. Coming from one of european capitals I can tell you that commute there is much-much-much worse than in LA. > capital of road rage Not according to videos I saw on social media. Most of such videos come from Texas.
- Grazester 4y agoI immediately thought of Texas where it came to road rage. I don't know why given all that open road!
- sacnoradhq 4y agoUnless it's I-35, then they're stuck in traffic for 3 hours. I've seen more road rage in California than anywhere because I lived there for 30+ years. Some dude chased down my mom's car (I was driving) during a forest fire evacuation in order to ram into the back of it for no reason whatsoever. I was weaving trying to get away, dude just had to keep going and plow into a vehicle. I was nearly to a CHP station. Wacko.
- sacnoradhq 4y agoHave you lived in LA?
- coolspot 4y agoI live in west LA, yes.
- panick21_ 4y agoI have trains every couple minutes to get in and out of the city.
- barbazoo 4y agoIs it allowed to cross double yellow parallel lines as it did 7 seconds into the video?
