Current title on HN:
Web-based kissing device horrifies Chinese social media users
Original title on CNN:
>This Chinese kissing device lets you smooch over the internet
Nowhere in the article I can see a report of the horror?
- LinuxBender 4y agoThe title was from https://lite.cnn.com/2023/02/25/china/china-remote-kissing-device-intl-hnk https://lite.cnn.com/2023/02/25/china/china-remote-kissing-d... but HN changed the link to the apex domain+url which has a different title. Updated title to match the new URL. Thankyou for letting me know it changed.

Re-reading the article, probably this is the part that triggered the "horrifies" in the "lite" site: > However, while many social media users saw a funny side to the device, others criticized it as “vulgar” and “creepy.” Some voiced concerns that minors could buy and use it. >“I don’t understand (the device) but I’m utterly shocked,” said one top comment on Weibo.
