- skippyboxedhero 4y agoI think it is definitely true that finance overuses over-skilled, low-wage workers but my point is that there is also quite a strong incentive to keep a lid on those costs due to the organization distinction between back and front-office work. Imo, banks are the rare example of an industry that has moved with the times in the UK (largely because many of them, even the British ones, are run and managed by non-UK people). They are far from perfect, but you don't see bankers getting paid the same back-office admin guy...that does happen in engineering though.
