What appear to the layperson to be trivial anatomical differences (large pelvic to leg ratio etc), turn out to have significant consequences when tested at the extremes - in elite sports for example. I wonder whether diving into the minutae of these differences might be potential pathway in how to handle the transgender controversy sports - perhaps you can aggregate the anatomical differences and come up with non-gendered classifications (i/e this particular match is in the class X, for pelvic-to-leg length ratio athletes)
