- kilgnad 4y agoDon't pretend to be stupid. Bed time is a loose choice. People don't carry importance or weight in it. That's why it's easily violated. Becoming a monk and a Buddhist is a life choice. It is indeed a contradiction and it is indeed important to know why.such a contradiction exists.
- ethanbond 4y agoHere you’re revealing your ignorance of the situation. “Becoming a Buddhist” in that part of the world is largely a matter of being born in that part of the world. Becoming a monk in Thailand, likewise, is not necessarily some grand spiritual journey like what you’re imagining. It’s practically a cultural norm for young men to become monks for a short period. You know what else some % of normal young men do? Fall to drug addiction!
