I thought this looked interesting, at least in a technical sense, until I actually tried it. Let me tell you, if you want to see crypto bros saying crypto bro things, this is the place to find it. If you want absolutely anything else, maybe go check out mastodon or something.

It's not properly decentralised AFAICT [0]. Censoring a user would amount to censoring their publicly facing relay, which isn't horribly hard for a state actor. Matrix with full P2P support through Pinecone seems much better [1]. I'm curious how their protocol stacks up against dsnp which is more of a how you can control your data protocol. Nothing screams "worth your time" like having the literal phrase "this is going to work", as JSON, on the splash page for a social network... /s Give me a break, nobody's parents are going to use this, nobody's going to explain this at their 9-5, at their kid's dance recital, at the cleaner's, etc. It has exactly zero chance of organic adoption for organic social interactions. The social media era is close to ending, imo. I think the monoculture will give way to the absence of the culture entirely. The always-online mentality is actively destroying the wellness and mental health of young people, who are flocking to casual apps like TikTok and Snapchat from hellscapes like Facebook and Instagram, because they just want to have fun and post silly shit.
