As I understand it, flutter is a toolkit for making smartphone apps that does a huge amount of work to make it possible to develop one pile of source code and have the app run the same on both iphone and android.
I'm told that flutter draws the user interface itself, rather then calling OS functions.
The increase in size isn't terrible, in the ballpark of a app being 7MB larger.
