Major refactoring of a platform is almost never the right answer, wholesale replacing battle tested code with theoretically better code satisfies only engineering teams and kills businesses.
- swagasaurus-rex 4y agoSure just let your competitors do that hard work instead. A critical production piece of code can be replaced safely if a comprehensive test suite can ensure feature parity. It’s a lot of work but if people rely on it may as well test anyways. The tests will survive the upgrade.
