What strikes me the most about ChatGPT is how convincing it is at justifying patent nonsense. For example, I've noticed it has some strange obsession with sunscreen. Even for absurd questions such as "Should I wear sunscreen on the North Pole in December?" it still makes up a plausible list of reasons in favour of wearing sunscreen.

Sunlight reflecting off the snow can quickly cause a burn." - https://oceanwide-expeditions.com/blog/what-to-pack-for-your-expedition-cruise-to-the-arctic-or-antarctica https://oceanwide-expeditions.com/blog/what-to-pack-for-your... I didn't know either, I just suspected it might be true. Trust The Computer. The Computer is your friend.

- mathteddybear 4y agoIt's a long night.
- noman-land 4y agoIt's basically closed now!
- rnosov 4y agoWell I've addressed it by specifying December timeframe (height of the polar night on the North Pole without any sun to speak of). Sometimes ChatGPT even addresses the issue of the lack of sunlight in it's reasoning and still recommends it.
