People are just happy when Dwarf Fortress succeeds at things. It's a massive labor of love that's finally getting recognition.

Once again, how does getting a Dice Award = succeeding? There a lot awards out there can be bought or are even an outright a scam. What makes this award meaningful.

Dice awards are somewhat like the academy awards for games. It’s more that they (DF creators) are hitting several successes after years of building a project many people love or admire and having a following but for the most part falling under the radar. Now they are getting a lot of main stream recognition and that’s important for people who are aware of the work they’ve put in. It’s inspirational to see something that is a passion project get recognized after so long
