I'd describe it as follows: The paintings are the side effect of me having an evening painting. For me, it's all about enjoying a nice evening, seeing the art come into being – with nothing I want to depict, express or evoke – and trying not to ruin the car with wet paint afterward. (As you can see from the paintings, I'm not the most tidy/cleanly person.)
BUT then comes the meaninglessness stamp, and this really gives the entire thing meaning – the meaning of meaninglessness.
I'm a huge fan of Douglas Hofstaedter's work (if you haven't read it, I can highly recommend his book 'I am a strange loop') and self-referential statements and things.
And this is somehow what happened here: I only wanted to get out of the way, people should interpret the works as they like, it's about them feeling something. But HN, as HN is what we love it for, escalated this into a logic discussion.
