I'm fascinated by Art Brut, because I like to try imagine what was going through the artist's mind that made them create what they did; especially if that artist has/had psychological problems. I value art that's made for the artist themselves higher than art made for other people.
- hemmert 4y agoThat's a good measure, too. It doesn't even have to count for any viewer, it can be only for the artist – even if they don't ever view the painting after making it.
