The five-day workweek is dead
- dstala 4y agoAt startups, it's 6 day work week. Sometimes seven. No complains. We enjoy what we do!
- zhte415 4y agoSuch is the mantra. But you may be exhausting yourself by doing rather than thinking.
- dstala 4y ago52*3 days as weekend + 20 leave + 10 national holidays = 186 days off!
- fl0ps 4y agoI know at least a couple CEOs that would probably chain people to their desks, families notwithstanding, if it could be made just a little less illegal. I don't think the industry as a whole is moving to this model any time soon, as much as I'd like it to be otherwise.
- ksaj 4y agoThis caught me off guard without the "Long Live ..." continuation that is the headline meme these days. In the early 2000's I ran a lab and made it a 4 day week. The 5th day, up to the individual but scheduled, was done at home. Mostly it didn't matter if they were actually working, as long as they were easy enough to contact if needed. A fair portion of the work happens "in your head" and so I respected their personal autonomy to think similarly while not actually at the lab. They say the best ideas happen while showering, after all. And it seemed to work, because every week they came up with new things and stayed motivated. I didn't ever feel like they were abusing it.
