Yea keep the funds in a wallet, not in a fucking exchange. That's the entire point. Not your keys, not your coins.

  "Don't use an exchange, crypto solves this!" "Don't use paypal, cash solves this!" Both systems have the same problem, in that people need to use intermediaries to accomplish the transactions they want to accomplish. Crypto solves nothing, it converts problems into different problems.

    Except I cannot give cash to someone who is not in front of me, while I can send crypto to anyone in the world. You don't need intermediaries to transact in crypto, that's the whole point
