"Addressing the impacts of climate change at the multilateral bank is a priority for the U.S."
That is such a dishonest take. The world bank will continue doing what it does, which is to keep status quo and prevent any developing nation from having any advantage over the west. Specifically when it comes to climate change.
- Georgelemental 4y agoPeople I know personally very well work at the World Bank. There are certaiy bad decisions and policies, but no secret plot to keep developing nations poor for unspecified nefarious reasons.

This is such a ridiculous take. No one is forced to go to the world bank. If the point is to suppress developing nations there’s a simple way they can evade its evil clutches. They simply don’t ask it for money. I’m shocked anyone can with a straight face make these claims after we saw what happened with the Chinese alternative. When China decided to provide an alternative to the world bank, to which many developing nations flocked initially, they insisted you needed to use Chinese companies to hound the infrastructure they were providing you funding for, those companies often brought in Chinese labor instead of using local labor, they charged high rates of interest which they didn’t reduce, and then when the govt defaulted, the chinese govt took over the property. That is the alternative to the World Bank and IMF right now. And again, if you don’t like them, and think they’re just out to get you, don’t take their money!
