I’m looking forward to planting my first Ozark Chinquapin this spring - the seedling is in my refrigerator right now, happily chillin’ out in a Ziplock baggie of moist soil. It’s not “engineered” in the colloquial sense, though - it’s the descendant of hand-selected trees that didn’t succumb to the blight.
