> Founded in 1925 on the lines of Mussolini’s Italian Fasces of Combat
Typical Hinduphobic article that erases atrocities committed against Hindus from its narrative. That is why there is no mention of stone-pelting at Hindu processions (that continues to this day) which was one of the main reasons behind the formation of the RSS.[1]
> Clashes between Hindus and Muslims in the UK city of Leicester last September
Where Hindu processions were attacked, to no one's surprise.
> Hindutva, primarily an ethnonationalist movement
Nonsense. Hinduism is a multi-ethnic and multi-regional religion. If Islamism, with its dreams of Caliphs, Ummah and Holy Mecca is not considered to be an ethnonationalist or fascist movement, why should Hindutva?
> Hindutva ... is concerned more with the make-up of the population and territory than with religion or philosophy.
Hindutva is the political part of Hinduism. It exists to provide space for Hindus to practice their religion without being targeted by Abrahamic idolbreakers and temple demolishers. Politics cannot be separated from Hinduism. Those who think it can, should refer to incidents mentioned in Hindu epics.
Anyone who says they are against Hindutva is against Hindus and Hinduism. Only, they are (generally) smart enough to mask their hatred for the religion, its practices and its practitioners in ideological screeds like the one above by claiming that it is only the political and militant part of the religion that they are worried about.

"Kanungo’s book also mentions how the 1923 Hindu-Muslim riots in Nagpur was one of reasons why Hedgewar decided to form the RSS. A major trigger for the riots was a dispute over Hindus’ right to carry out religious processions in front of mosques."
