If we don't continue apartheid, where will we get billionaires to buy social media companies and run them into the ground as a political stunt?

- r3trohack3r 4y agoI assume this is in reference to Elon Musk. That story is bunk. https://www.snopes.com/news/2022/11/17/elon-musk-emerald-mine/ https://www.snopes.com/news/2022/11/17/elon-musk-emerald-min...

- PentelicoMarble 4y agoBut his father did own an emerald mine. That's what the Snopes link says.
- concordDance 4y agoAre you saying that Musk somehow inherited $44 billion from his still-living father's stake in an Emerald mine said father bought for under a $100k?
- SadTrombone 4y agoUnless I'm missing an edit, that's not remotely what they're saying.
- concordDance 4y agoHow would you interpret what their point is?
- Avshalom 4y agothere isn't a point, it was a joke, apartheid was bad, but it gave us Elon Musk (who, is implied to also be bad). The idea that we should continue apartheid, so that we can get more Musks is then ironic or sarcastic.
- tharne 4y ago> Are you saying that Musk somehow inherited $44 billion from his still-living father's stake in an Emerald mine said father bought for under a $100k? Are you trying to ruin someone's petulant rant with a simple statement of facts? But this is the internet!
