Part of me thinks the only thing they did wrong was admit to using ChatGPT. Given how routine and formulaic these statements have become, presumably ChatGPT would excel at them. I bet if we pull some statements from other universities, they all read the same. I've been out of university for over a decade and even then these were routine.
