Interesting take, I think we argued the same before overthrowing governments in the Middle East and North Africa. We were wrong.
- sorenjan 4y agoWhat a ridiculous "take", who argued that anyone would be safer by leveling their country with artillery or committing 50 000 war crimes? Raping, torture, and looting is good for the safety of the world? Are there other countries than Russia invading Ukraine right now? Is your point that it's good that Russia invaded Ukraine and started the biggest war in Europe since WW2 killing tens of thousands of people, or that it doesn't matter because the US (I'm guessing it the US you're referring to with "we") has invaded other countries and it's Russia's turn? You do know that Russia considers Ukraine a Russian colony and the NATO angle is only propaganda, right? Why is Putin ok with Finland joining NATO if it's all about stopping NATO expansion?
- yucky 4y agoWhen exactly do you think this war started?
- sorenjan 4y agoFebruary 20 2014. What exactly do you think this war is about? Do you think Russia has made the world safer since then? Do you think Crimea or Donbass belongs to Russia? Do you think Kiev is full of neonazis that only a Russian special military operation using artillery, cruise missiles, rape and torture can get rid of?
- yucky 4y agoCrimeans think they are part of Russia, and they voted numerous times on the issue. Also, what happened the day before Putin rolled his tanks into Crimea? Or do you think that just happened out of the blue?
- sorenjan 4y agoWhich Crimeans, the Russian ones moved there as a form of colonization, or the Crimean Tatars, many of which was deported by Stalin[0]? You don't actually take the 2014 referendum seriously do you? Crimea voted for the independence of Ukraine from Russia in 1991. Even if 100% of the inhabitants would want to be part of Russia, does that give Russia the right to annex it? Do you believe in international law? What's your thoughts about Russia's invasion of Georgia? I'm well aware of Euromaidan, Yanukovych chose closer ties with Russia instead of the EU in opposition to most Ukrainians will. As I mentioned previously, Russia sees Ukraine and Belarus as Russian colonies and will not let them make their own decisions that aren't beneficial to Russia. If the Baltic states weren't part of NATO they would be next in line, with the same "protect our people" excuse that Putin and Hitler alike have used to annex and invade. - yucky 4y ago> You don't actually take the 2014 referendum seriously do you? What, you don't like democracy? Besides, they name dropped Kosovo in the Declaration for a reason. There is no logical argument for recognizing Kosovo (which we do) and not recognizing Crimea. > Do you believe in international law? See Kosovo.
