I disagree with this post entirely, and think these error messages are great. They show remorse. Which email would you rather get after working a week on a presentation to a client with your partner: a) just got a call that the client signed with another firm. b) just got a call that the client signed with another firm :( one of these shows the disappointment and the fact that you poured a week into this work and were shot in the back (assume the client didn't even mention another firm in the picture), one of these doesn't. show remorse in your error messages, like a human.
