- ggm 4y agoThe underlying story here is worth a lot more than a 1 paragraph feed reduction. I'd appreciate pointers to what motivated the moves. My suspicion is, it will be as straightforward as money and being self-actualised rather than bound into googleThink. I don't actually think the highly politicised stuff which led to some senior staff de-hiring was the main reason but I'd be amazed if it didn't add to the atmosphere of "lets do this, somewhere else" Some of them may come back. I suspect at their level of seniority, it will be negotiated by intermediaries and the contract will be gone over with a fine-toothed comb: If they are put into googleThink and their work can't be published in the peer review journals, then there's going to be a large golden handcuff, and the same for a re-ejection.
