- lcall 4y agoThe Church runs many institutions of higher ed, including one that is open globally over the internet with vastly cheaper tuition depending on the student's country's economy (also accredited), as well as extensive humanitarian aid and other ongoing construction projects, building maintenance, publishing, etc that continually consume $. They want to be able to sustain those operations by saving for "a rainy day", which they also counsel others to do. (Thoughtful comments appreciated with downvotes; thanks.)
