Why is posting a GPT summary wrong?
- minimaxir 4y agoHacker News is more for human content and ideas. Additionally, not initially disclosing it immediately makes it misleading.

- anigbrowl 4y agoBecause you're trying to collect karma (a loose proxy for social standing) with a machine-generated product. If you want to do that, make an account called GPT-summary-bot. That way people know what they're getting and can ignore or make use of it as they see fit. Faking personhood to get attention is a drain of other people's time. Additionally, everyone else on HN also has access to GPT if they want something summarized, so posting yours is redundant. It's the equivalent of putting up cardboard cutouts to advertise yourself, and attaching a dispenser with flyers.
