"While library staff must be committed to serving patrons regardless of socioeconomic status, many of them don’t have training on how to deal with an unsheltered person suffering from untreated mental illness, drug addiction, or other problems." It's funny how people that never have to deal with homeless people assume that other people are required to. My downtown library has been overrun for a couple of years, as it's situated between the ravine where junkies shoot up and the church that feeds them. Now, we just request books be transferred to different libraries and go pick up. There's just no reason for anyone in the community to use that library anymore.
